Jaithirth “Jerry” Rao is the former CEO of MphasiS, and was awarded the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award twice in 2001 & 2004, and the Karnataka State Rajyothsava Award in 2005. Before this, he spent over two decades, with Citi and its parent Citicorp in various capacities including as Head of Citibank the Global Technology Division. He is also the founder and board member of VBHC Value Homes Private Limited. He is an alumnus of IIM – Ahemadabad and UChicago, and teaches at both institutions. Jerry has also served as the chairman of NASSCOM. An avid writer, he has published a Gemini II, a volume of poetry, and Notes from an Indian Conservative, a collection of essays.
